Lakeway Parade of Homes Draws Record Breaking Crowd
From mid-May through the end of the month, master planned community Rough Hollow in the Lakeway real estate market hosted their annual Home Builders Association of Greater Austin Parade of Homes. This event was hosted by The Peninsula, one of the community’s foremost neighborhoods, and this year the Parade of Homes drew a record-breaking crowd. Here are some of the details.
Record Attendance at The Parade of Homes
The 2017 Parade of Homes drew an enormous crowd, breaking records with 9,000 visitors attending throughout the two weeks that the home show ran. The community at large did booming business, real estate wise, with 25 total sales throughout the month of May. This marks another record for Rough Hollow, the community’s top selling month to date. Additionally, this is the third time that Rough Hollow has hosted the home show. However, next year’s Parade of Homes will be held elsewhere in Austin.
About the Parade of Homes
One of the things that makes this home show special, aside from the record attendance, were the homes that were on display. In The Peninsula, homes range in price from anywhere between $1 million at the lower end and $300 million at the top. This year’s show featured homes of the same caliber, built by five different well-recognized builders: Triton Custom Homes, Lake Travis Builders, Jenkins Design + Build, Laurel Haven Homes and Arbogast Custom Homes.
The smallest of the homes, by Jenkins Design + Build, was 4,143 square feet with four bedrooms. The rest of the homes ranged between 5,000 and 6,000 square feet with five bedrooms each. Design styles ranged from Spanish mission to craftsman, each home featuring the latest in exterior and interior design trends.
Builders Win Multiple Awards
Each of the five builders took home awards, with the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin awarding 23 different honors in total. Jenkins Design + Build took the award for most innovative design, Arbogast Custom Homes won the award for best interior design, Triton Custom Homes was recognized for best architectural design, Lake Travis Builders took home the prize for best kitchen and Laurel Haven Homes won an award for creating the most unique feature.
No announcements have yet been made for the 2018 Greater Austin Parade of Homes. However, investors and home buyers interested in Austin real estate can be sure of one thing: It is certain to draw enormous crowds, especially since Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation.
